Applied Biocatalysis Symposium

Invitation

It is our great pleasure to invite scientists from all over the world to the symposium on Applied Biocatalysis on Thursday, October 10 and Friday, October 11, 2002. This year's venue will be the exciting city of Zurich, Switzerland.

The symposium will provide an ideal platform for contacts, discussions, and an exchange of ideas in a very personal setting at the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). This is the 7th in a series of meetings initiated by the working party 'Biotransformations' (VAAM) where about 150 scientists come together each autumn and partake in lively discussions, high quality poster sessions and oral presentations.

The focus will be on aspects of applied biocatalysis ranging from biocatalyst discovery to catalyst and process development as well as industrial applications. Key concepts and the scientific status quo will be presented by invited specialists in eight keynote lectures, and in selected oral and poster presentations. In the tradition of previous meetings, the poster sessions will be highly important for direct scientific exchange.

On behalf of the organizing committee,

Andreas Schmid
