Project description
Sebastian Zobel studied Biochemical Engineering at TU Dortmund University from 2004 - 2011. Since August 2011, he is working as a PhD student at the Laboratory of Prof. Lars M. Blank at the Institute of Applied Microbiology at the RWTH-Aachen. In the project Pseudomonas 2.0, he is focusing on optimizing Pseudomonas putida towards redox biocatalysis. Redox biocatalysis is dependent on NADH and a high regeneration rate of NADH is a key parameter. His aim is to increase the NADH regeneration rate and thus the overall efficiency of NADH-dependent biocatalysis by increasing the (co-)substrate uptake rate.
