Research Interests

I am fascinated by nature`s designs as I believe similar principles can be used to solve numerous engineering issues. Nature`s solutions strongly motivates my research work for the application of miniaturization concepts for bioreactor development and their scale-up. I am currently working on developing a process idea based on a multistep reaction sequence using oxygenases to convert volatile, hydrophobic and toxic compounds. Additionally, I am part in a project developing efficient photobioreactors for the utilization of solar radiation and carbon dioxide for biomass generation and consequently biomaterial production.
